Thank you for thinking of Seattle Humane for your group service project or volunteer event! There are several ways your group can support Seattle Humane and our animals.
Host a Fundraiser
Hold bake sales, yard sales, craft sales, participate in walk-a-thons, and much more! Feel free to use your imagination to come up with a fundraising idea. Learn more about hosting a fundraiser.
Hold a Pet Food Drive
Throughout the year, we rely on groups and individuals to help us meet the needs of the animals served through our Pet Food Bank.
If you are interested in organizing a pet food drive in your community, school, church, or business, please contact our Community Outreach Coordinator at (425) 649-7566.
Make Blankets and Snuffle Mats
All of our animals get a blanket in their kennel or cubby to keep them comfortable during their shelter stay, and snuffle mats can provide valuable enrichment opportunities for dogs awaiting adoption. Donations of these items are always appreciated, and making them can be a fun activity for your group to bond over while you help the animals!
Seattle Humane cannot provide supplies, but we’re happy to share tutorials or recommendations if needed.
Donations can be brought to our shelter any time during open adoption hours, which are Sun-Wed 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Thurs-Sat 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Volunteer at our Shelter or Special Events
Volunteer groups can support Seattle Humane and our animals by helping with laundry and dishwashing, landscape maintenance, assisting in our Pet Food Bank, or staffing special events. For safety reasons, we cannot allow groups to work hands-on with our animals.

Please note that group volunteer opportunities are very limited and dependent on current shelter needs and availability. Please allow up to 7 business days for us to process your request and contact you about available openings.
All members of your group must be at least 18 years old to participate. If you’re looking for opportunities for kids and teens, please contact our Education Department at [email protected]
