Founded in 1897, Seattle Humane proudly promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need. We are more than a shelter – Seattle Humane is a resource center for the region, providing adoption services, a pet food bank and support for pet owners, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and wellness exams, humane education for all ages and more. All made possible through the support of a generous community.

Featured Pet: Sabrina

Meet Sabrina! 3-year-old Sabrina is an introverted but loving gal who has been with Seattle Humane since March 2025. She may need a little time to adjust to new things but has been building her confidence while enjoying gentle attention and cozy downtime on a foster break. Sweet Sabrina would do best in a peaceful home without a lot of noise or activity, where she can enjoy cuddles and her favorite squeaky toys. With patience and encouragement, she continues to blossom.

The Washington State legislative session is underway starting 1/12 and Seattle Humane is advocating for pets, focusing on affordable housing and veterinary care. Use our new Take Action tool to contact lawmakers and stand up for animals statewide.

Our dog training classes utilize positive, dog-friendly methods effective for dogs and puppies of all ages. We focus on good manners in the real world, socialization, and giving you the tools to prevent or address behavior problems.
