Adoption 101

Are you ready to adopt a new family member? We’ve set up our Adoption 101 process at Seattle Humane to make sure you and your new pet are a good match. Here’s how it works:

What’s included in the cost of adoption?

Adoption fees help provide medical care, training, food, and shelter to our animals. When you adopt from Seattle Humane, you receive more than $570 of services.

Our Working Cat program

What is a working cat?

Semi-feral or feral cats aren’t comfortable around people as indoor companion pets but can be placed in private homes, barns, or local businesses like wineries or breweries for pest control. When Seattle Humane receives applications for working cats, we work with other shelters to transfer in cats suited to your situation. All cats are adopted in pairs for companionship, and are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to placement. These cats will require a solid structure for warmth, and daily food and water.

Want a pair of working cats? Purrfect! Complete the application above for working cats and submit to [email protected].
