A Financial Strategist with a Heart for the Community

Susan Loosmore joined Seattle Humane’s Board of Directors in 2026, bringing over three decades of financial and strategic leadership with a longstanding commitment to community impact.

Susan built her career in the wireless industry, most recently spending more than 17 years at T-Mobile, where she rose to Executive Vice President and Strategic Advisor. In that role, she counseled senior leadership on financial strategy, long-term vision and operational excellence. As the Executive Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, she led enterprise-wide financial transformations that drove multi-billion-dollar efficiencies and strengthened shareholder value. She departed the company earlier this year, concluding a distinguished career defined by disciplined execution and a knack for turning complex financial strategy into clear, actionable direction.

That balance of analytical rigor and people-first leadership is exactly what she brings to Seattle Humane.

Susan’s board and governance experience is equally impressive. At the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, she has served as the Chair of the Board of Trustee and led the CEO Search Committee. Her work there has strengthened succession planning, sharpened board governance and advanced leadership development initiatives.

She has contributed to advisory boards at Seattle University, the University of Portland and Slalom. Additionally, she has served as board treasurer for both the National Charity League and Country Village Day School.

Susan holds an MBA from Seattle University, a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Portland and is a Certified Public Accountant. But her strengths extend beyond the numbers. Throughout her career, she has championed transformational leadership, organizational design, community partnerships, mentorship and women’s leadership. 

Susan’s appointment marks her first formal affiliation with Seattle Humane, bringing to the organization a leader fluent in both financial strategy and community impact. Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Susan is passionate about animal welfare, community service and mentoring emerging leaders. She shares her home with her cat, Walter, and enjoys spending time with family, supporting local nonprofits and exploring the outdoors through biking, hiking and skiing.
