Earn Service Hours
Show the pets you care and meet school service requirements!
Seattle Humane’s Pet Food Bank collects and distributes donations of pet food and supplies to pet owners throughout the region helping provide nearly 82,000 meals to pets. We could use your help! Organize a drive to gather donations, create a Giving Tree or consider distributing Kindness Cards to make an impact in your community. You might find that pets need help in your very own neighborhood.
You can also help raise money for pets by holding bake sales, yard sales, craft sales, participate in walk-a-thons, and much more! Feel free to use your imagination to come up with a fundraising idea.

High School Service Shifts
Another way to earn service hours is by volunteering onsite at Seattle Humane through our special High School Service Shifts program. Whether it is washing food and water bowls or cleaning crates used for transferring pets, the work done will not only benefit the pets but also count toward community services hours needed to graduate high school.
Students in grades 9-12 are invited to assist with routine shelter tasks, meet other teens, and earn community service hours at Seattle Humane.
Available Upcoming Sessions:
Shifts in May will be announced in April. Stay tuned!

Scout Programs
We are excited to welcome scouts to our shelter to earn their animal-themed badges, awards, and electives! Programs include a lesson and activities specific to scouting levels and are for troops/dens of 5-12 scouts. For example, we offer workshops for the Daisy Animal Observer badge (new), Brownie Pets badge, Junior Animals Habitats badge, STEM Career Exploration badges for all scouting levels, Cub Scout Bear Elective Critter Care Adventure and more!
Workshops can be scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during our Adoption hours, 12 – 6 p.m. For programs that won’t earn a badge, there is a fee of $10/participant which includes a Seattle Humane fun patch! For Girl Scout programs that earn a themed badge, there is a fee of $12/scout which includes a fun patch and the Girl Scout badge.
