I have an animal : Spaying & Neutering
Addressing Overpopulation With Low Cost Spay/Neuter Services
To help ensure that there are enough companions for all pets, The Seattle Humane Society plays an active role in reducing the number of unwanted animals born. As a service to our adopters, we provide a free spay/neuter surgery with every adoption. We also offer free surgeries for cats, dogs and rabbits through a special program for moms and their litters (scroll down for more details).
Additionally, The Seattle Humane Society operates a spay/neuter clinic for income restricted pet owners throughout our community. The clinic is staffed by licensed professional veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Notice: Due to overwhelming demand at our shelter, we are currently not accepting appointments for public spay/neuter services. We anticipate resuming appointment scheduling later this summer. Please check our web-site for updates.
Requirements
An appointment is required for each surgery and can be made by calling (425) 649-7560. All animals must be at least four (4) months of age. We are now open 7 days a week from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Special Program: Free Spay Surgeries Cats, Dogs and Rabbits!
We are now offering free spay surgeries for any female cat, dog and rabbit who is brought to our shelter with a litter. The animal will be returned to the owner, and the kittens, puppies or bunnies will be placed for adoption.
"We are always looking for ways to reduce the number of unplanned litters", said Dr. Bethany Faulkner, senior veterinarian. "If people have pets that have had a litter, we want to encourage them to bring the mom to us for this free sterilization when they bring in the kittens or puppies or bunnies for adoption so that the problem doesn't repeat."
Make an appointment with this special program, please call us at (425) 641-0080. Appointments are available 7 days a week. There is no charge for surgery and vaccinations are $10.00 - 15.00.
