Get Involved Today!
The Seattle Humane Society welcomes volunteers with varied expertise and experience. We are looking for volunteers who are committed, caring, and who would like to truly make a difference in the lives of the animals in our care. By joining our team of over 700 dedicated volunteers, you will be helping us in our mission to provide the resources and support necessary to build lifelong relationships between people and pets.
Volunteers at the Seattle Humane Society must be at least 18 years of age. Because of safety issues, we are unable to offer volunteer positions to people under 18 years of age, however there are many ways that young people can help animals without actually being on campus. Click here for more information about our youth programs.
Here's How You Can Get Started:
1.) Attend our two-hour volunteer orientation. Attending an orientation is extremely important. It is the time to learn our policies, procedures and programs, gain a thorough understanding of the many ways you can truly make a difference – and ultimately help find homes for the animals in our care.
Orientation sessions are held once a month in our auditorium. There is no need to preregister but please arrive early to allow time for traffic and parking as we close the doors five minutes after the start time and do not allow late arrivals. Our address is 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue and the auditorium is located at the bottom of Driveway B. Please check this page the day you plan to attend an orientation to see if there are changes or cancellations due to weather.
