Although we may not always have immediate openings for every position, we are always looking for great people to join our team at the Seattle Humane Society. We always accept applications! Please note: Most positions start at $10.00 an hour.  We do not have evening hours and most of our part-time positions require employees to work 2-3 full days (we generally do not have half-day positions with the exception of our animal care assistant positions). Most of our full-time positions require employees to work at least one weekend day every week.

Cat Foster Coordinator

 We are accepting applications for a full time Cat Foster Coordinator. The Cat Foster Coordinator is responsible for the development and the maintenance of the cat and small animal foster program.  He/she oversees the recruitment, trainng and support of the Foster Volunteers, and maintains the volunteer and animal databases for the program.  Must have a positive attitude, exceptional customer service skills and training abilities, and must be detail oriented with the abiltiy to multitask. Must have a love for cats and have exceptional cat handling skills.   Please send a cover letter along with your resume and application to explain how your experience and abilities are a good fit for this position. 

Veterinary Technicians

We are accepting applications for both licensed and non-licensed vet techs.  Priority will be given to those applicants with shelter experience as well as clinic experience.  Animal handling and veterinary assistance in a shelter environment is extremely important.  Must have a positive attitude and exemplify the high level of care SHS provides to our shelter guests.  Please apply if you are interested in either full time or part time positions. Adoptions Advisor

If you are a people-person who would love to help animals find a home of their own, this position may be just right for you!  The Adoption Advisor is responsible for working with the public to match the appropriate animal to the interested applicant.  You must have terrific customer service skills, an outgoing personality and great juggling skills - lots of multi-tasking. 

 We are currently accepting applications for one full time and one part time Adoption Advisor, working both weekend days required.

Kennel Technician

If you enjoy being more hands-on with the animals you might consider applying for a Kennel Technician position primarily cleaning and caring for our canine shelter guests.  Hosing, scrubbing, feeding and laundry - oh my!

Animal Care Assistant

Are you a cat person?  We have cats in several different areas of our shelter and all need food, water, clean blankets and a clean litter pan every day.  If you would like to work with the cats in our care, you might consider applying for an Animal Care Assistant position.
