What We Do : Work for Us
Join Our Team!
Do you have a passion for animals, hard work, and providing great customer service? Although we may not always have immediate openings for every position, we are always looking for great people to join our team at the Seattle Humane Society. We always accept applications!
Download an employment application (Adobe Reader required to submit form eletronically) or pick one up at our campus. Employment applications may be faxed to (425) 747-2985, emailed to jobs@seattle[email protected], mailed or delivered in person to: Seattle Humane Society, 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue, WA 98005.
To give us the best and most complete information from which to evaluate your qualifications, please send us your resume and a completed employment application. If you are interested in more than one position, please prioritize your interests. Due to the number of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond to every inquiry.
Please note: Most positions start at $10.00 an hour. We do not have evening hours and most of our part-time positions require employees to work 2-3 full days (we generally do not have half-day positions with the exception of our animal care assistant positions). Most of our full-time positions require employees to work at least one weekend day every week.
Currently Accepting Applications for...
Animal Care Asisstant
Are you a cat person? We have cats in several different areas of our shelter and all need food, water, clean blankets and a clean litter pan every day. If you would like to work with the cats in our care, you might consider applying for an Animal Care Assistant position. We currently have a part-time position available.
Volunteer Data Entry Assistant
The Data Entry Asisstant is a master of databases! This person is responsible for data entry on all volunteers, produces monthly and quarterly reports, maintains distribution lists for email, and also oversees and trains data entry volunteers. Advanced knowledge of Excel is a must, knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Volgistics a plus. This is a part-time position working 20 hours a week.
Kennel Technician
If you enjoy being more hands-on with the animals and are interested in animal care, behavior and health, you might consider applying for a Kennel Technician position. This primarily involves cleaning and caring for our canine shelter guests and requires strong dog handling skills. Hosing, scrubbing, feeding and laundry — oh my! This is a fast-paced, noisy environment and requires you to be able to stand for long periods and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
For Future Consideration
(Though the below positions are not currently available, we ALWAYS accept applications for future consideration - so don't hesitate to apply!)
Adoptions Advisor
If you are a people-person who would love to help animals find a home of their own, this position may be just right for you! The Adoption Advisor is responsible for working with the public to match the appropriate animal to the interested applicant. You must have terrific customer service skills, an outgoing personality and great juggling skills - lots of multi-tasking.
Our Benefits
All positions include training opportunities, an employee assistance program for employees and their families, employee discounts on merchandise and limited veterinary services. Optional: automatic payroll deposit, tax shelter annuity, supplemental insurance coverage and credit union membership. Full time positions are eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance (we pay 100% of the employee's medical and dental coverage premiums for full-time employees!), life insurance fully paid by our organization, ten paid holidays and a generous paid time off plan.
