Seattle Humane Society Offers King County a Solution

As early as November 1, 2009, King County Animal Care and Control shelter in Kent is set to close. We have offered to provide all animal sheltering and adoption services for King County. 

Seattle Humane Society’s goal is to save all the healthy and treatable animals in King County, and to elevate the status and the welfare of animals throughout our community.  For this reason, we are offering to step forward to work with the cities, and assist the county with its current challenges – without the benefit of the roughly $1.5 million annual subsidy that King County has been providing to KCACC to provide the same services.  But in order to be able to succeed in this endeavor, we need to move forward without delay...
