I have an animal : Walk for the Animals
WALK FOR THE ANIMALS 2009
Save September 27, 2009 for this great event!
Last Year's Event:
On Oct. 4, University Village was overrun by a sea of bright green and blue t-shirts as 661 animal lovers turned out for the Seattle Humane Society’s 6th annual Walk for the Animals. The Bellevue non-profit raised more than $65,000 in donations – money that will provide food, shelter and medical care for over 5,000 orphaned animals. This was a huge increase over last year’s event, in which 300 walkers participated.

“Our goal is to bring people and pets together to have fun. I think we succeeded in doing that today,” stated Brenda Barnette, chief executive officer for the Seattle Humane Society. “Thanks to the generous support of caring friends, we will be able to save more animals’ lives, place more pets in homes of their own, provide pet food for low-income seniors so they can keep their pets and more for our community.
The Walk for the Animals featured a breakfast, dog-centric activities, and a 5k scenic walk along the Burke-Gilman trail. It was followed by University Village’s FidoFEST – a celebration of all things dog – which also raised critical funding for the Seattle Humane Society.
