I want to explore : Tours

Group Tours

Interactive Shelter Tours
Tours of our shelter are available to children through adults, Monday through Friday.  They include a guided walk through our facility and provide visitors with an overview of our operation, as well as info on responsible pet care, animal behavior, pet overpopulation and animal welfare.  Teachers click here to learn about classroom fieldtrips.

Passport to Responsible Pet Care Tour for Kids
Children’s tours are interactive and involve kids in an inquiry-based exploration of the shelter and related responsible pet care topics. They get to take home a stamped passport to remember their experience.

Scouts
A shelter tour is the perfect culminating event to a scouting service project. Schedule one in conjunction with donation drop off.  Be sure to let us know if you are working on a specific pet badge for your brownies, girls or boy scouts and we can tailor the behind-the-scenes look at the animal shelter to your goals.

Request A Tour
To request a tour, send an email to tours@seattlehumane.org at least two weeks in advance.  Tours last 45 minutes to an hour.  Please understand that due to the size of our facility, we are unable to accommodate groups larger than 15.   While our tour program is free of charge, donations of pet food for our pet food bank are greatly appreciated. Check the donation Wish List for currently needed items.
