Looking for a fun, interactive, animal-friendly way to get your kids involved this summer? Look no further – Seattle Humane is back with Animal Adventures Day Camps! Your child will have a blast each week with animal interactions, games, crafts and guest speakers. 

Before your child can participate in camp we will need a signed copy of the following Seattle Humane Release of Liability, Medical Consent and Photographic Image Release.

Details:

  • Camps run Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 
  • Camps held on campus at Seattle Humane in Bellevue | 13212 SE Eastgagte Way Bellevue, WA 98005
  • There is an after-care option available from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. for an additional $15/day (or $50/wk).
  • Regular camps will be $335/wk and specialty Vet Camps will be $385/wk. Fees will include all materials, activities and lessons. 
  • Due to allergy restrictions, snacks and lunch will not be provided. Please send your child with a sack lunch and any snacks they may need throughout the day.
  • Campers will receive a reusable water bottle and camp T-shirt.

Available Camps:

Critter Camp | June 25 - 28 | Ages 7-9

Calling all animal lovers! Time to focus on ALL animals and not just dogs and cats. Help us get our animals adopted and learn about less traditional animals such as bunnies, rats, hamsters, reptiles and many more! Practicing empathy and compassion to all critters help children create bonds with animals and people alike. Special animal visitors will wow campers! Meet adorable shelter animals, create fun enrichment items for our animals, play games, and meet new friends!

Intermediate Veterinary Camp | June 25 - 28 | Ages 11-14

This academic camp provides a wonderful introduction to veterinary medicine and is a perfect step for youth interested in a career in this field. Classroom time will be balanced with opportunities for observation and involvement in the state-of-the-art Seattle Humane and WSU teaching medical clinic and hands-on work with our shelter animals. Campers will have a chance to observe surgeries and learn how to perform physical exams on animals, read X-rays, manage disease, give vaccination injections and much more!

Animal Care Camp | July 2 - 3 | Ages 5-7 

NOTE: this camp will only be half days from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and is $140 for the two days
Animal Care Camp builds self-esteem and nurtures compassion by developing a respect for all animals. Program activities include lessons in animal safety and handling. Songs and movement, as well as arts and crafts, will help teach lessons in caring. Guest speakers will hold the young child’s attention while teaching them all about animals. 

Pet Partners Camp | July 9 -12 | Ages 10-12

Campers will work with Seattle Humane adoption center animals by choosing a cat or dog and help that pet get adopted.  Projects will focus on service, and guest speakers will explore service animals, therapy animals, and working animals. Campers will learn about pet issues, use their communication skills to advertise their animal to be adopted and have fun making new friends!

Beginning Veterinary Camp | July 16 -19 | Ages 8-10

Does your elementary child want to be a VET? This academic camp provides a wonderful age-appropriate introduction to veterinary medicine. Classroom time will be balanced with opportunities for observation and involvement in the state-of-the-art Seattle Humane and WSU teaching medical clinic and hands-on work with our shelter animals. Campers will learn about physical exams, how we draw blood & read X-rays. They will also have a break for some games, activities and guest speakers throughout the week, too!

Raining Cats and Dog Camp | July 16 - 19 | Ages 10-12

Do you love cats and dogs? Then this camp is for you! Each day will feature information, crafts and interactive guest speakers about cats and dogs! Animal interactions with Seattle Humane shelter dogs and cats galore! What more could you want than to hang out with our fluffy, 4-legged friends and get them adopted? Learn about dog and cat body language, create enrichment items for the animals, play games and meet new friends!

Does your child love art AND animals? What a perfect pair. Register children for this camp if they would be interested in exploring the wonderful way to mix the two. Campers will experiment with many different art mediums such as paint, photography, collage, skits, etc. Don’t worry we will have plenty of animal interaction time as well. We won’t hold back on the creative side especially if it helps animals in the shelter. Campers will come home with lots of creative animal art and all materials are included.

Raining Cats & Dogs Camps | July 30 - Aug. 2 | Ages 8-10

Do you love cats and dogs? Then this camp is for you! Purrfect Pals Camp | Aug. 6 - 9 | Ages 8-10

Calling all cat lovers! Do you prefer the laid-back, sophisticated nature of our feline friends? Meow’s your chance to spend a week learning all about cats, creating fun crafts, playing games, and spending quality time with Seattle Humane kitties (and other shelter animals too!) If this sounds like your idea of a purrfect time, register right meow!

Well Hello There!

Chunk and his new brother Kernel are getting along greatly now. They love to play! Chunk is a love bug and wants cuddles all the time, which I just adore.
