Sweetheart Sunday – Poppy

It’s Sweetheart Sunday. Please meet Poppy, a 3-year-old purebred American Bulldog!

Poppy is just the sweetest, gentlest girl you’ll ever meet.

Poppy has incredible manners. Watch her take treats oh-so-gently from my hand.

She has irresistible eyes that will melt hearts. She’ll look up at you adoringly when you show her some love.

Poppy is a quiet girl. But, she’ll let you know when she’s ready to play.

Watch Poppy politely asking me to play with her!

Poppy absolutely ADORES playing tug of war. She’s a fair player too!

She’s very strong, but knows how to play the game with gentle give-and-take.

She’ll hog the rope toy if you let her!

I highly suggest you do, because she talks to it and it’s one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen!

Poppy’s also a major pro at fetch. She’ll literally play fetch with anything! Watch her chase her puzzle toy around.

Once you’ve played with her, Poppy doesn’t hold back her gratitude!

She’ll express her adoration for you by leaning on your leg and giving LOTS of gentle kisses.

So don’t delay! Come by Seattle Humane and adopt this gentle honey today!

Introducing Sweetheart Sunday!

Happy Sunday fellow animal lovers! Today, we are launching an excited weekly post called Sweetheart Sundays where we feature a pet who is still waiting for his or her furr-ific home!

Our first Sweetheart Sunday is true to her title. Introducing the biggest love bug in the world, Rosalie!

Her name isn’t the only thing that’s pretty about her. Rosalie is a babe.

I mean, look at those EYES!

Rosalie also got a brain to match her beauty. This girl is smart. Watch her sit!

But Rosalie doesn’t let her beauty and brains get to her head! She’s loves everyone! We met for only a few seconds before she went to give me hugs and kisses.

Then she put a tennis ball in my hand, and her goofball side REALLY came out during fetch. Watch her excitedly run for the ball and forget it!

The best part about Rosalie? She’s still available for adoption. You know you can’t resist that face! So stop by Seattle Humane today and meet her today!

Happy Tails from Adopters!

Dear Seattle Humane,

We wanted to tell you how our two precious pets are doing. Nina, our torbie girl, was adopted from SHS during Catapalooza 2012 and quickly became the center of attention in our home. Before coming to us, she spent time in a loving foster home where she was nursed back to health after having a rough start in life. We are so grateful to that foster mom! Nina is wildly entertaining and she loves to sleep under the covers at night. Tali, our blue-eyed, black Lab mix was adopted in the Spring of 2013. She was a transfer from another shelter that wasn’t able to treat the ringworm infection she had. Luckily SHS was there to help and after a few weeks of treatment, Tali was adopted by us. We also appreciate all the work that went into treating her! Tali and Nina are BFFs, but we’ve decided to adopt another kitty from SHS very soon! We hope to be able to adopt a new kitty (preferably one with special needs) and we know just where to go!

Our two SHS alums fill our home with so much joy and love; thank you so much!

Kind Donations for Senior Pets

As December is finally upon us, that means November and Adopt-a-Senior Pet Month are now over. Throughout the month of November, all senior pets 7 years and up had their adoption fee discounted. During this time, we were able to find loving homes for 35 senior pets!

Our special promotion was publicized in our November e-newsletter earlier in the month and was spotted by a very special individual. Max, who’s only 10 years old, is the founder and CEO of The Dog-Gone-Good Company, and he donated a basket of goods to each senior pet who was adopted. We met with Max two weeks ago as he brought in a few “Thank You” baskets for each new parent of an adopted senior dog. All baskets included a hand-tied fleece blanket, various toys, two bags of biscuits and a voucher for a free initial examination at Loyal Companion Vet Clinic.

Max founded his company in 2012 to raise funds to attend summer camp. Now, his company has grown to include two other team members along with two interns. He generously donates twenty percent of all profits to animal rescues and fundraisers he’s involved in.

The Dog-Gone-Good Company makes all natural organic dog biscuits with only human-grade ingredients. As of right now they have six different dog treat flavors, and when you order a bag of biscuits, you get a free dog toy!

If you’re looking for a great holiday gift for your canine friend, consider getting them gourmet all natural doggy biscuits from The Dog-Gone-Good Company!
