Indiviual attention.
Volunteer heroes spend quality time with our canine and feline shelters guests each day. The dogs may get a special walk to practice basic training like “sit”, “down”, and “stay.” Or they may get play time in a play yard that often ends in cuddle time. The kitties are brushed and given exercise when they chase feather toy on strings.
Exercise and mental stimulation are critical to helping pets thrive in the shelter situation and also when we do place them in a home of their own. To the volunteers, these activities are rewarding experiences. To the animals the experience is priceless.
