Research Assistant

Seattle Humane, in partnership with The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) Pets for Life Program (FPL) and the University of Denver (DU)'s Institute for Human-Animal Connection (IHAC), is seeking a bilingual (Spanish and English), detail-oriented, and flexible professional to join our team during a four year study. This Research Assistant position involves collecting a variety of human, animal and environment health data from the study community using a combination of door-to-door surveys and desktop analysis of secondary sources. Individuals who are skilled in interpersonal communication and passionate about cultural competence and working with undeserved communities would be great candidates for this position.

Dog Care Coordinator

Seattle Humane has an exciting opportunity available in our animal care department! The Dog Care Coordinator is responsible for managing the timely flow and the overall population and disposition of dogs on-campus, in foster, and offsite. This position works in a close, cross-disciplinary collaborative environment with the Behavior Program, Foster Program, Animal Care Department and Veterinary Services departments. We are looking for someone who can multi-task, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work with a diverse group of people. Volunteer training and oversight are included in this position. At least one year employment at an animal shelter or related professional experience handling animals is preferred. Experience with handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments is a must! Weekend shifts are required.

Transport Driver

Do you love to drive and love pets? Seattle Humane has an exciting opportunity! The Transport Driver is responsible for driving pets to Seattle Humane from various locations both within and outside of Washington. He/she supports the Lifesaver Rescue Program and assists animal processing. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, work well with people and love pets!

Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are seeking Amazing Superhero Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work in the Seattle Humane Veterinary Clinic. 
Seattle Humane promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need, regardless of age, ability, circumstance or geography. We are searching for Veterinary Assistants who can join us in our mission and continue to grow and improve our excellent programs.

Seattle Humane Licensed Veterinary Technicians are responsible for:
 -Daily care of all shelter animals and surgical patients
 -Daily care of all shelter animals and surgical patients
 -Assisting Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with pre-, peri-, and post-operative care of patients
 -Running diagnostic test
 -General cleaning
 -Following patient care protocols
 -Providing positive guidance to the Veterinary Services Team
 -Pre medicating, inducing, intubating, and prepping patients for surgery

Candidates must have a commitment to the safe care of animals and be open to learning new and advanced shelter/clinic care techniques. The opportunity for positive change will present itself daily and embracing it is how we better serve our patients and clients. This is a full-time permanent position.

Veterinary Associate

We have a great opportunity available for a Veterinary Associate in our Vet Services department! The Veterinary Associate is responsible for handling incoming calls; email correspondence and other functions for spay/neuter appointments, intake and discharge, public microchips and other supportive duties assigned in a veterinary clinic and shelter. We are looking for someone with great customer service and multi-tasking skills, and who loves to interact with people as well as animals!

Intake Associate

Do you find yourself wishing you could help both pets and people in your community? Seattle Humane has an exciting opening for an Intake Associate. This position involves assisting customers who need to surrender pets as well as supporting our lifesaver transfer program by transporting pets to SH from other shelters around the state. Applicants must be compassionate, have great customer service skills, love animals for this job. Must have strong communication skills, be able to motivate others, and maintain a positive attitude in difficult situations.  Shelter experience and animal handling background will put you ahead of the pack! Must have good computer skills and be able to work independently. We are currently hiring for full and part-time Intake Associates.
