Foster Coordinator

Puppies + Kittens + amazing volunteers = Foster Coordinator. If you love animals but you’re also super good with people, we have a great job opportunity for you! We’re accepting applications for a Foster Coordinator! Seattle Humane is nationally recognized for our exceptional foster care program and for good reason- each year thousands of pets benefit from foster care for a variety of reasons. From neonate kittens to senior dogs and everywhere in between, our foster program matches foster parents with pets who need time away from the shelter. This small but tenacious team handles all veterinary appointments, provides behavior support, and works closely with each foster parent to meet their pet’s individual needs. The foster coordinator is essentially a caseworker for foster pets and their foster families and each day is different than the last. This fast-paced and fun job combines both lots of hands-on pet time with veterinary and behavioral health. This is a full time position.

Life-Saver Rescue Program Coordinator

We are currently accepting applications for a Life-Saver Rescue Program Coordinator! Seattle Humane's Life-Saver Rescue Program is one of the most robust and hardworking transfer teams in the country. The Life-Saver Rescue Program Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the transport of thousands of pets each year from sources around the country to Seattle Humane, but most importantly from shelters close to home. This job requires extreme creativity, a very strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and compassion for both pets and people. Qualified applicants must be able to manage multiple projects at once. If you’re both a “people person” and an “animal person”, this job might be perfect for you!

Animal Care Assistant

Here at Seattle Humane, we care for hundreds of fabulous felines and cute canines every day and each one requires care tailored to their needs. From feeding and cleaning to grooming and moving, an Animal Care Assistant’s job is fast-paced and fun. Not only do you get to work with amazing cats and dogs, but you get to work with the best darn people around- our volunteers! Animal Care Assistants are the glue that keeps the shelter running so if you're motivated, hard-working, and interested in animal care, apply today! This is a part-time position, shifts require at least one weekend day.

Staff Accountant

Seattle Humane has a terrific opportunity in our accounting department! The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing accounts payable, daily cash ledgers, accounts receivables, accounting system data entry work, reconciling accounts and filing of all appropriate paperwork. Must have excellent computer skills including data input, accounting background and experience and be able to work independently. Intermediate to advanced Excel & Word. Must have excellent oral communication skills, good writing skills and can listen effectively. Understanding of general accounting theory, wage and labor law and non-profit regulations a must. Knowledge of Paycom payroll processing a plus.

Veterinary Assistant

Who We Are:
Seattle Humane is an independent, nonprofit shelter committed to saving animal lives and improving the human-animal bond. Seattle Humane has a 98.6% Live Save Rate. Last year we placed nearly 7,000 pets into loving homes and provided income-qualified households with access to affordable spay/neuter services through our public spay/neuter clinic. We just opened the doors to our new state-of-the-art shelter in August! 

Who You Are:
Seattle Humane is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join the shelter's clinic team. We are seeking someone with experience and a strong interest in surgery and anesthesia for an expanding surgical program. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working with senior veterinary students. Strong communication and teamwork skills and a commitment to providing a high level of care to the clinic's patients are a must. The ideal candidate should share our lifesaving mission and be forward thinking.

Adoption Advisor

If you are a people-person who would love to help animals find a home of their own, this position may be just right for you! The Adoption Advisor is responsible for working with the public to match the appropriate animal to the interested applicant.  Your role will be to educate and assist our very special customers so they go home with their new best friend.  Customer service experience and animal handling background will put you ahead of the pack!
