Humane Teen Club
The Humane Teen Club is for teens aged 13 to 17 who are interested in learning about companion animal welfare and becoming volunteers at the Seattle Humane Society before they turn 18. The members are chosen at the end of the summer and the program runs throughout the school year. The Humane Teen Club meets two Saturdays each month from October to June and teens learn about Seattle Humane's programs and receive training to prepare them to volunteer at the shelter. Space is limited to 20 members who are chosen based on the strength of their application essays.
Service Learning Opportunities
In order to have hands-on contact with shelter animals you need to be 18 years of age. But there are plenty of other ways to help shelter animals and earn service hours. You can do a pet food drive, coordinate a towel and blanket collection, or host a fundraiser for the shelter. Click here to see a complete list of projects you can do to help shelter animals!
